Simple
By happenstance, I was at the show at the Stone Pony and came upon this recording a few years later. Yes I have the ticket stub. :-) This was back in the old days when you could buy bootlegs from an Italian company called the CD Music Co. but known as Kiss The Stone. The liner notes of the cd list more than 100 other shows/bands. Grant Lee Buffalo opened. Paul and the band were tight that night but the clip where he threatened to punch somebody was because a bunch of idiots were moshing and kept falling on the stage. Keep in mind, the Pony is a tiny club and the "stage" was only about 2' high if that. Summarily, if he sounds pissed off, he was. I'm surprised he finished the show given that I saw the 'Mats 3 times and they only finished one of the three (general drunkenness caused the other two to come to an early close) and again, he wasn't very happy. At any rate, it was a hell of a show and while the recording isn't optimal, it does capture the energy very well.
