Arriving in England a short while after the release of his seminal album Harvest, Neil Young set about promoting the release. This 30-minute set for the BBC, performed by him alone, features many of the undeniable classics the man is known for: "Heart of Gold," "A Man Needs a Maid," "Out on the Weekend," "Old Man," and others. Young also performs a few of his songs not available on official releases, including the country-styled "Dance, Dance, Dance." Fortunately, the sound quality is flawless on this well-produced bootleg. Even Young's hilarious mumbling in between songs can be heard as clear as the day (expect to hear lectures on American cars, American television, and even his ranch). In Concert at the BBC captures Neil Young as no other release has. His sentimental side is showcased perfectly as he performs many of his acoustic classics and interacts with the audience at various intervals. This is Neil Young in purest form.
