After reading some internet reviews, I was expecting this album to simply suck. Surprise!! It doesn't suck at all. In fact it rocks, and it rocks hard. Geddy's voice and bass sound great, Alex is playing some awesome crunchy riffs along with blistering, face melting guitar solos, and the drums, well, they absolutely kill. It's a very good album that gets better with each listen.

This is a really good album! It's just not their best. Lyrically, this album tackles some pretty heavy real world stuff. I feel "Faithless" is the one that speaks to me the most. "I don't have faith in faith, I don't believe in belief, you can call me faithless... But I still cling to hope, and I believe in love, and that's faith enough for me." That is so me right there It feels a little long with 13 tracks but it does help that 3 of those are instrumentals. The whole thing kind of has a dark feel to it, like Grace under Pressure and Caress of Steel had. Not that it's bad but, albums like Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, and Signals are just so much more pleasant to listen to as a whole. Don't give it to someone as their first rush album. Let them ease into this one.
