Ozzy and Randy wanted to make something special for their first album. And they did it. An excellent and diverse piece of 80's Hard Rock with all the Neo Classical of Rhoads fingers and the dark aura Ozzy brings from Black Sabbath. This excepcional mixture brings us excellent tracks like Mr. Crowley, Suicide Solution or I Don't Know, legendary hymns like Crazy Train, touching and unique ballads like Goodbye To Romance and a guitar feast on Revelation. And we can't forget the tons of excellent riffs that we have here. Great moment, great music, a milestone on 80's Heavy Metal history.

Ozzy Osbourne's debut solo album "Blizzard of Ozz" is one of the best hard rock albums ever released. Ozzy was just kicked out from Black Sabbath after "Never Say Die" and started to make music with his new band. He had very skillful players Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisley but the guitarist Randy Rhoads was the most memorable of them. His guitar work was something very new and has inspired most new guitarist to try sound similar. The opening song "I Don't Know" is one of the best songs of the album but the next one "Crazy Train" may be his most popular song. "Goodbye to Romance" was Ozzy's farewell song for Black Sabbath and it is a really good ballad. The song which I didn't like at first but now I consider one of his best slow songs. "Dee" is a very short guitar work track by Randy Rhoads. "Suicide Solution" sound very dark and it has been played in many concerts."Mr. Crowley" starts with great keyboard intro. It is one his best known songs too. "No Bone Movies" is a funny song and I like it but when "Revelation (Mother Earth)" starts, I know I hear my favorite Ozzy song ever. This six minute track included very touching lyrics and great melodies. It has lots of variations. Then the last song "Steal Away (The Night)" is a great uptempo number. This carries maybe the rawest sounds Ozzy has ever given to us in his solo career. It is not as well produced but it is its strength.

Как ни крути, а альбом - отстой. Как почти все у сольного Осборна. Разве что Diary of a Madman и No More Tears неплохи. Все же остальное никак не котируется не только с Black Sabbath, но и с альбомами других маститых групп.
MEGA FREEDY
"Wine is Fine, but Whiskey's quicker" Ozzy preaches at the beginning of Suicide Solution. Blizzard of Ozz is one of the more memorable albums of the 80's due to the sound. When people talk about sound by a band or artist, they usually talk about The Boston Sound, The Drums of Motorhead, but what comes to mind when I listen to stuff that's memorable, is Randy Rhoads guitar shredding on songs like "I Don't Know" and "Crazy Train" The ballad "Goodbye to Romance" was Ozzy's swansong to Black Sabbath at the time and it is absolutely poetic. Mr. Crowley's opening is unforgettable and the album still holds up nearly 40 years later after it's release. If you love Ozzy, this is a no brainer for your collection.8.5/10

Не серьезная музыка. Его деятельность в Black Sabbath намного лучше.

Не нравится мне этот альбом. Слащавый поп-рок какой-то.

Mr. Huey, failing to mention Bob Daisley's lyrical input (complete writing of all lyrics) is glaring. Ozzy only provides melody to the songs words. Same goes for Diary and Bark at the Moon albums. Bob Daisley and Randy Rhoades are the songwriters on the first two albums. That aside, this is the best album of 1980. The Blizzard of Ozz band created the first two 'Ozzy' albums.
